Sterling Silver 925 is the only silver that AVENA uses. This is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, primarily copper. Pure silver is simply too soft to be used directly in jewelry and over the years this proportion has been found to best preserve the colour, lustre and heft of pure silver, while vastly improving its durability- we like to think of it as having your cake and eating it too! 

Plating is surface coating one metal with another, and it is performed in order to change the appearance of a piece of jewelry or to prevent it from tarnishing. The thickness of our plating ranges from 0.5 to 2 microns.

AVENA Rose rings are made from a special blend of brass alloy encased in 18K Rose Gold plating, which not only prevents them from tarnishing but also imbues them with a rich Peach lustre.

AVENA Gold rings are made from a special copper alloy encased in 18K Yellow Gold plating, granting it a glitter indistinguishable from that of real gold.

AVENA White rings are made from a special metal blend encased in 18K white gold plating, sealing it within an inimitable quicksilver finish.
